Part of the Realise Ability team vision is to educate about best practice and to normalise disability within our community. We run a variety of community programs, either directly or in partnership with others. All of these are free, or can be paid for via fee for service.

Looking for services?
We are proud to support families in our community to understand and gain access to the NDIS free of charge.
We also provide free assistance to anyone who does not have Support Coordination funding in their plan and needs some help navigating the system.
We do this because we believe everyone should have the same opportunities and rights to disability support.
Everyone on our Client Care Team has a great understanding of the NDIS and will work hard to ensure the start of your journey is as smooth and successful as possible.
Often in a remote area it is difficult to find the answers and help you need.
We are here for that! and if we don't know, we will find out!
In 2023, Realise Ability sponsored 4 clients and 2 staff to make their way to Perth to take part in the Ultimate Challenge Voyage aboard the tall ship, Leeuwin II.
For over thirty years, Leeuwin Ocean Adventure, the Ultimate Challenge Voyage has offered people with an intellectual, physical or sensory challenge a life-building adventure which is a powerful source of cognitive and emotional stimulation, challenge and accomplishment. Outdoor Adventure Education makes a difference to lives, offering experiences beyond the status quo, encouraging new behaviours, strengthening self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-efficacy.
Realise Ability will continue to offer this opportunity for clients each year. Unfortunately, due the recent shipping accident involving the Leeuwin, the 2024 voyage has been cancelled.
We hope to see them back on board next year!
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact admin@realiseability.com.au.
Every school holidays, we host a variety of activities for kids of all ages and abilities.
We offer sensory play for children from age 2 up to year 1, Adventure Days for school years 2-7 and holiday hangouts for teenagers in years 7-12.
Activities are designed to provide an experience and you are likely to get wet, muddy and tired! In the past we have climbed Frenchman’s Peak, learned hip-hop, done yoga, surfed and kayaked, explored our town by bike, held a My Kitchen Rules and drummed with professional drummers.
Flyers are sent to current clients a week or two before school ends for the term but if you are not a client and interested in joining in, give us a call!
Once a week, during term time, we host groups with a focus on socialising, experiences and community access.
These groups cater to all of our young adult clients and include adult activities and themes (such as going to the pub, going out for dinner, playing darts, fire pit at the beach).
While we think that the kids who work with us are amazing, we know that there is a whole team of awesome people behind them.
We really enjoy getting to know the parents, carers and families and helping you to help the kids. We know parents work tirelessly and we love providing opportunities for you to have a break.
Watch out for invitations to Wine and Cheese Nights, Pamper Sessions, Workshops and more.
Available to local organisations who want to provide a safe space for people with a disability. We have found in the past that many families who would not ordinarily attend busy local community events have been able to do so knowing that there is a safe and secure chill zone with sensory strategies available. You might have seen us at Edge of the Bay, Nulsen Primary School sports carnival and the Yabby Classic.
